Summer is here! We got the little kiddie pool out last week for the kids to splash in. This of course presented me with the opportunity to do something I have been wanting to try for awhile.
I got my silicone muffin trays out filled them half full with water and added a few drops of food coloring to each then put them in the freezer for the night.
The very next day the kids explored the color ice in the empty splash pool. They pushed it around, poked it, tried to pick it up, smeared each other and then inspected the color on each others.
I know what your thinking. Did that stain? NO! Once the initial exploration was done and the ice started melting we filled the pool with some water (they enjoyed watching the ice melt totally) and when the kids got out 10+ mins later there was not a hint of the food coloring anywhere!
All in all a VERY successful exploration! We are doing this again this next week!
Would you make color ice? What would you do with it?
