Playdough is the most versatile play substance to have in your play bag of tricks! For today’s little activity we used a few playdough tools to create with.
Our goal was to create a scene with the playdough tools we have on hand.
The set in reach only had 3 colors so we went it. A few shapes were selected and we carried them over in our activity tray.
It soon became evident that said tray was not sufficient and said tools were too few. 😀 Creating things with play dough is super fun and unpacking all the playdough tools in sight is even better!
As the dough was rolled and items stamped out we made little houses out of shapes, found a tree cutter and then we stamped out our little family.
My son made sure each person in the family was accounted for. Even little baby sister.
I also find that playdough tends to be one of the few activities that all the kids will participate in together with minimal sibling fighting.
Creating with play dough is also a great way to unleash the imagination.
This activity also works on pincer skills as well as rolling which all help develop fine motor skills.
