A Fun Alphabet Game For Kids
Here’s what you’ll need:
– assorted plastic eggs
– permanent marker
I love how simple this activity is to prep and how much fun it is for kids. You can play this game any time of the year, and if your kids are like mine- they won’t care that it’s plastic Easter eggs in the middle of July!
The first thing you will want to do is write a letter of the alphabet on each egg. If you want, you can write the uppercase letter on one half and the lower case alphabet on the second half. This way, kids can match letters before they even begin.
Now place your eggs in a basket. Start walking around the house and look for items that start with the letters on your eggs. Look for smaller items that can fit into the eggs and be held there.

When you have concluded, you may have some eggs that don’t have insides just yet. In this case, you can try making a list a probably items that you could use. For example, zipper for Z, or yoyo for Y.
Take the time to go through each egg and talk about your findings, the letters they start with, and the sounds those letters make.
