We have been working a lot on the sounds of our alphabet lately and recognizing the upper and lowercase variations in preparation for our new reading program.
We are going to be using teach a child to read 100 easy lessons when we are ready to begin!
To make this activity you are going to need:
a folder (optional)
card stock
You can download the printable over here.
Started by printing out the printable twice. The one sheet you are going to cut and the other sheet you are going to paste onto the inside of the folder.
To play this game spread out your folder and place a handful of cards below it. Let the children match at the matching cases. Lowercase to uppercase.
you also notice in the printable download that there are yellow printout pages to give the extra option of printing color. these yellow pages are easier for the younger kids to distinguish between which ones they have finished putting pieces on. I use white for the older children.
Ask the children to sound out the letters as they place the cards on the folder.
This can easily be made into multiplayer game with two children taking turns.
