Is your little one learning their ABCs? Learning the alphabet, each letter’s sound and being able to recognize the letter are incredibly important skills for children. This is the base for all future reading and writing. This Christmas ABC match activity can help!
Christmas ABC Match
This ABC matching game is perfect for children who are beginning to learn to identify upper and lowercase letters. This is also great for children who just need practice.
After printing the printable game, cut each card out. You’ll notice that the top of the card has the uppercase while the bottom has the lowercase letters. They are separated by a dotted line that you can cut to separate the two pieces of the card.

This step is optional, but laminating the cards is a good idea. This will help keep the game safe from little hands, which means they can be used for years.
Once they are prepared, you can set up the game however you’d like. The first decision is how many cards to use. There is one card for each letters. If your little one is not ready for all of those letters, just use the ones they are ready for. For instance A-H.
You can either mix up all the pieces together, bottom pieces and tops, or mix up between the two piles. This is up to you, depending on the difficulty level your child is ready for.
Have the child find the matches and move them to the side when they are connected.
How fun is this? The Christmas theme is fun in itself, but then when you add in a matching game it’s even better!

Ah, it came through in the email. The image above indicating the download is a bit confusing, since it indicates that clicking *that* button will initiate the download. Thank you. I believe this game will be useful in my tutoring.
