As you can see, the materials for this project are simple and easy to find. You can find everything you see here at your local craft store or even dollar store making it an affordable craft.
Begin by cutting out 8 circles. We used green construction paper for this portion of the project. You will need one circle for the head of the caterpillar and seven circles for the days of the week. If you are worried about your circles being symmetrical, use a drinking glass as a stencil.
Cut out the accents for the caterpillar such as the antennas, small strips for feet, and the facial features. We used white and black construction paper for this craft and just free handed the designs.
Line the circles up to form the body of the caterpillar. Add a dab of glue in between each segment and press them together to create one uniform body. Allow to dry.

Add on the facial and body features of the caterpillar. This includes the eyes, mouth, antenna, and legs. Use glue to adhere. Allow to dry.
Take your marker and allow kids to copy the days of the week on the body of the caterpillar. You will write one day per segment. Write the days in order starting with Sunday and ending with Saturday.
Your caterpillar is now ready to be displayed! Place it somewhere prominent where kids can see the days in order and eventually memorize them. A fun activity to try with this craft would be to have children point to the current day. They will enjoy pointing to the correct day and making a prediction about which day will come next.
