This post is rather picture heavy, there is so much to show!
I made this felt play mat about 2 and a bit years ago for my then almost 20 month old son. It was easy to make and we had a bunch of fun playing with it!
Check out the actual tutorial to make this super fun felt play mat, I love the fold up house option!
On with the pictures!
Here we have cutting the roads and making tracks.
Making a little forest in the corner!
With a zoo next door.
There is of course a park with a dog chasing a ball and a swing to swing on.
Space to park in front of the fruit and veg markets and a duck pond at the back.
Below is an overall view.
The felt play mat being tested out! VROOOM
Stopping at the gas (petrol) station to fill up the car before continuing.
I added plastic wildlife to the tree area.
Which proved to be very interesting!
Once again, check out the how to for the felt play mat on the original tutorial.

Very cute! I bought a rug like this years ago but I think a play mat is much better. It’s more tactile and portable. Off to pin!

This is seriously fantastic, Nicolette! Such a labour of love, but so worth it for all the learning and entertainment it will provide. What a wonderful mat for your little guy to explore!

Wow! That is beautiful. It looks like it was as fun to make as it is to play with. Thanks so much for sharing at Mom’s Library!

I love seeing other people’s version of the play mat. Everyone is so unique and special. My son has had his for 3 years now and he still loves playing with it. I hope your boy gets as much enjoyment out of his too.
