Today’s busy bag is about learning our color words. My preschooler is very good at color matching so I thought I would introduce the name words for the colors in a simple busy bag in the shape of a flower.
You will need:
- a base color for the flower (I have a caramel color felt)
- red, blue, green, orange, purple and yellow felt (or similar)
- marker pens to write the words on with
- a circle of some sort, either a cookie cutter to trace, the rim of a glass etc.
Use your circle shape and make the center then over lap 5 petals to represent a flower.
Do the same with each color of felt.
Lay your petal circles on the base and use your circle maker once again to make markings on the petals to trim.
I have written the names of the colors in black pen and given each petal a outline of color to help along. Another option is to write each word in the color it is to help those not yet at a reading stage. These would then make a sight word type activity.
Simple yet learning!
The make great busy bags as well.
