We love going to the farm. Farm animals are so fun, intriguing and they smell all funny ways. Going to a farm or petting zoo is a great field trip or day activity for kids. That is the inspiration for this Farm Color By Number printable set. Color by numbers are so fun and great to help with simple math skills. Another bonus is that they’re super easy to prep!
Farm Animal Color By Number Printables
It must be noted that while my kids were learning and strengthening skills with these farm worksheets, they were also having so much fun. They were giggling constantly. With each new farm animal color page, we talked about what the animal ate, what their baby’s names were and then we started in with the animal noises. This was hands down the best part of the day!
Color by number printables are so fun and beneficial for kids. These farm animal printables will help children develop essential skills. One being fine motor skills. These are important for children to strengthen because they are critical for tasks such as tying shoes, holding a pencil, zipping a zipper and more. Color by number activities also help children with dexterity and hand eye coordination.
This activity also strengthens counting and number recognition, as well as color recognition. Each page may have different numbers, but they all start with 1 and go through at least 5. Kids will need to identify the number and color in order to color the correct spaces.
Creativity is also encouraged. Children will practice coloring inside the lines, explore colors and more.

So grab your favorite crayons or colored pencils and let your kids get started. Each page has a white blank border on it, which could be cut off if preferred.
Children will look at the number one, see which color is associated with it, and find all the spaces in the picture that have the number one. When they find a number one, color that space with the color associated with it in the color code box. Continue on to number 2 and so on.
Children could also start at each space, identify the number and color code, then color that space. Move to the next space and so on. This would probably take a little longer, though.
When these Farm Animal Color By Number activities are finished, they will make fantastic decor for your home or classroom.
