Lets just clear up that 4 under the age of 5 title shall we.
I have a 5 year old
I have a 4 year old (delayed learner)
I have a 2 year old
I’ll have a newborn soon!
That is my current homeschooling situation. I am doing preschool items with my 5 year old and toddler items with my 2 year old. For my 4 year old we are doing things that currently interest him and to draw out certain aspects of learning he battles with. Namely talking.
So why am I writing this post? Well sometimes life gets a bit CRAZY! It is rather hard to stick to some kind of routine or learning pattern so in this post I have all my goals set out and as we do them I will add them below for you to perhaps use with your little one too.
I love the concept of learning of through play so most of our ideas and activities will focus on the “Hands On” approach.
Learning should be fun!
For my 5 year old I have joined a group of fellow bloggers to share a weekly themed idea for ages 3-5 (preschool) in a series titled PLAYFUL PRESCHOOL! Here is what we are currently looking forward to.
See all my playful preschool posts here!
Things that get taught in Preschool:
- ABC and sounding, identifying
- Recognize and learn to write their name
- Hold pencils, crayons and scissors correctly
- Identify shapes, colors, animals and body parts
- Match similar items and tell different ones
- Counting up to 20 and adding / minus up to 5 items
What are my resources?
I use pinterest a lot for inspiration and have various boards for various themes.
I also reply on the Preschool Journey, Ready for Kindergarten and my new favorite a homeschool planner!
This weeks task!
1-6 September – Use my new homeschool planner and make those lesson plans for at least the rest of the year!
We have a just finished back area as well! Here I am planning a great outdoor area for the kids for learning, crafting and art.
