Want to get your kids involved in making some ornaments this year? You have come to the right place! This year we are attempting an entire DIY ornament made tree.
Today I would like to share this really simple and shiny kid made ornament.
To make you will need
- Tinsel (or cut up garland)
- plastic sheet / cut up plastic bag on a baking tray (I use this purely for transport with out disturbing the ornament)
- string / wool
- school grade glue
- scissors
Cut the string into reasonable size strips, have your kids dip this into the glue then place on the plastic in any shape they want, just make sure that the ends touch to make a closed circuit.
Fill the shapes with glue and let your kids have some scissor cutting practice with the tinsel. This doesn’t have to be all tinsel, grab some other things too!
Move to a safe place to dry. It took 24 hours for ours to dry, it might take longer for colder / more humid areas.
Once the glue is dry, peel your ornament off the plastic and trim the excess glue off with a scissors, use a hole punch to make space for the thread to hang onto the tree. Let your kids hang their new shiny ornament on the tree!!
