This week I combined my 2 year olds love of stickers with my desire to teach some counting! This activity is also great if you are working on fine motor skills.
I made this multi use printable! You can download your copy at the end of this post.
update: the typo has been fixed from the images in the actual printable. The word lean is meant to be learn! hehe
Yip! It is as easy as that!
Use stickers, dot markers, pebbles, color in with crayons, get those pom poms out or encourage some play dough rolling!
I used the grey counting printable for the dot markers and the rainbow ones for the stickers. I also laminated 2 rainbow ones to use with play dough and pom poms and just about any other loose parts we wanted to count with!
As the kids use the dot markers, stickers or any of the chosen materials have them count or count for them! (younger toddlers)
My 5 year old went straight for the dot markers and play dough where as my 2 year old was hooked on the stickers. This was GREAT fine motor practice for her as she aimed to get each sticker on a dot as perfectly as she could!
Did you see our stickers post from 2 weeks ago? Great tips for using stickers with younger toddlers!
For my 2 year old on this day having the new activity meant a challenge of getting the stickers in the dots, so not much counting was done. BUT I will be bringing it out again to practice actual counting with her.
Here is my 2 year old using some beads for counting, I actually got all the way to 3 before she took over and decided to line them up herself in a random order.
The playdough was also tons of fun! My 5 year old managed to pinch just the right amount of play dough off to make a smaller ball to fit onto the dots. This once again is some fine motor practice with some sizing up objects.
My 2 year old was more into squashing the play dough.

This is so cute! Unfortunately the bottom gets cut off when printing on 8.5×11 paper. Is there a way to shrink it?
Nicolette Roux says
you have to tell your printer to “fit to page” then it wont cut off 🙂

Love this for my little one! He enjoyed using dot markers as we counted. Noticed that “Learn” is spelled wrong.
