Life cycles are a fun topic to discuss in preschool and elementary school, especially during the spring months. Spring is when the beginning of the life cycle begins, typically. These Life Cycle Spinners are the perfect way to help children learn the different steps of 3 different life cycles.
Life Cycle Spinner Activity
This is a great way to help children learn the steps of three different life cycles, in order and in an engaging way.

What’s Included
There are 6 pages total. There are the two layers for each of the three different spinners. They are a:
- Plant
- Frog
- Butterfly
How To Prep & Use
The bottom layer of the spinner has the various steps of each life cycle in a pizza shape. The top layer of the spinner blocks out each of the steps, except for one.
Materials Needed:
Scissors
Laminator
Metal Fasteners
You will need to cut out each piece, laminate it if desired, and connect the two with a metal fastener. This fastener will allow you to spin the two layers in separate directions. Now children can start at any point in the life cycle and see what comes next.
The life cycle steps on these spinners are as follows.
For Butterflies:
- Eggs

- Caterpillar

- Butterfly
For the Frog:
- Egg
- Tadpole
- Tadpole with legs
