The sun shines warmer and the rain falls harder both mean spring. Spring means gardening. Gardening is not only something that people wait all year for but it is also a great activity to teach children about the science of seeds and growing. Explaining the multiple steps can be difficult for us to do or for kids to understand, so we created this Garden Booklet.

A Simple Garden Printable For Kids
Setting up is super simple too.
After printing the booklet sheets, cut each booklet page out individually. There is a rectangle on the top of each page that is the space for the pages to be stapled or glued together. This can be done before or after children have colored on the pages.
One idea is for you to present the booklet pages out of order. Children who are ready for more of a challenge can put the pages in order on their own. This could be done before the steps have been discussed to see how on track the kids are.
The pages of this garden booklet explain the different steps of planting a seed. There are 15 pages that include the topics of:
Introducing the pot
Filling pot with soil
Dig a hole with a trowel
Plant the seed(s)
Water the seeds
The sun helping
Seed sprouting
Growing roots, leaves, blossoms, and then seed pods
Eating the plant or replanting
This is a super simple and fun activity for kids of all ages. When spring starts, it’s time to plant a garden and this is the best way to help kids understand it all!
