For each and every page of this counting and number quiet book I have made the pages interactive as I find my kids love to touch, feel and move things.
Page 7 – Little Pigs
Aren’t these little pigs just so cute! I even made them a mud puddle which my daughter loves to pretend play the pigs are rolling in.
Count your 7 little pigs. They like to get out the mud for a nice cleaning.
But as they are pigs mud is always their favorite so they drive right back in! oink oink!
To make this no sew quiet book scene I cut out a brown bit of felt for the mud puddle the size of my page. The pigs have a template which you can find on page 1. I used a pink pipe cleaner I got 8 tails out of one pipe cleaner by cutting it in half until I had 8.
Curl the little tail up so it resembles a pig tail and hot glue it on. I used a speck of black felt for their eyes but little googly eyes would also work. Use your velcro to secure the pigs to the page. Be sure to check all the tips for velcro on page 1.
Such cute little pigs!
Page 8 – Threading Stars
For this page I wanted to do more threading with some finer bits. Remember that small parts are a choking hazard to the younger ones and you can totally substitute the stars for something larger.
I made a pouch to hold the star beads by hot gluing a flap down and adding a pouch shape over it. Glue around the edges so that it is hollow in the middle. Use half a velcro dot to secure the flap to the pouch.
The pipe cleaner is an entire pipe cleaner bent into a spiral type position and secured with a circle of felt to the page with hot glue.
Just look at these awesome fine motor skills! My daughter loves to thread things too.
You can either store the stars on the pipe cleaner or put them into the pocket. I have NOT folded this pipe cleaners end over as we need the pointy bit for threading.
