This was one of our very favorite activities. So fun. Harvey soaked up the attention as Nicolette and I and her two girls surrounded him, showering poms all over his head (and they mainly stayed in the box!)
Nicolette’s 2 year old climbed in too and Harvey didn’t mind at all. We had fun putting the poms in their clothes and on their heads. Harvey got obsessed with putting them in his ears!
He loved just laying in them and rolling around. We also played tickle. It’s an amazing sensory activity, keeps the kids interest a long time, and so easy!
Materials:
- A large box big enough to fit your child
- A bag of pom poms
- Optional items to hide in the pom poms
Place the box on the floor with the flaps open. Place your child in the box and empty the bag of pom poms in with them. Watch them kick their feet and roll around the pom poms!
Nicolette: A bonus idea to do with this same box is to put something else in it like plastic animals and play find the hidden object. This is such a great way to make a child feel like the center of attention and have a super fun and bonding time – all while you are sitting down! This activity is also great for fine motor skills.
This idea isn’t JUST for 1 year olds!
There are 40 more activities in the book and ALL include an activity variation AND “As They Grow” section, making this a Grow-With-Them book.
Activities are suited to 1, 2, 3 and even 4 year olds!
You’ll really get your money’s worth!
