Polar bears are such fascinating creatures, and my little ones have been absolutely obsessed with them lately! Between reading books about the Arctic and pretending to be polar bears themselves, it inspired me to create this adorable set of polar bear and winter-themed activities. These printables are not only fun but also educational, perfect for keeping your little explorers engaged while learning more about these majestic animals and winter themes.
This freebie includes 6 pages of interactive and creative activities:
Find and Color: Color the polar bears using the color legend below.
Polar Bear Puzzle: Cut out and reassemble the pieces to create a cute polar bear.
Match the Polar Bear: Draw a line to match the polar bears.
Jumbled Letters: Unscramble letters to spell winter-themed words.
Two Coloring Pages: Relaxing polar bear designs for kids to color and enjoy.
These activities are perfect for preschool-aged children and can be used at home, in classrooms, or during playdates.

Prompts to Further Your Child’s Development:
While working on these activities, consider using prompts to spark curiosity and enhance learning:
During Find and Color: “Can you count how many bear heads there are?”
During the puzzle: “What do you notice about a polar bear’s body? Why do you think their fur is white?”
While matching: “Which polar bear looks the smallest? Can you find one that matches this pattern?”
While Unscrambling Words: “Can you tell me about this word? What does it remind you of in winter?”
While coloring: “What colors will you use? What do you think a polar bear’s day looks like?”
Extend learning and fun with these hands-on activities:
Polar Bear Sensory Bin: Create an Arctic-themed sensory bin with cotton balls (snow), small polar bear figurines, and blue gel beads (water/ice).
Ice Block Play: Freeze small plastic animals in ice blocks and let your child use tools like spoons or warm water to “rescue” them.
DIY Polar Bear Habitat: Use shoeboxes and craft supplies to create a diorama of a polar bear’s Arctic habitat.
Winter Walk: If it’s snowy outside, take a walk and discuss how animals like polar bears survive in the cold.
Sorting Activity: Sort objects by size, shape, or color related to the Arctic or winter theme (e.g., snowflakes, blue items, white objects).
I hope you and your little ones enjoy these polar bear-themed activities as much as we did creating them! Don’t forget to tag us on social media when you share your little artist’s creations or polar bear playtime moments. We’d love to see how you’re using these printables.
