As adults, we know our favorites. Our favorite food (or if you’re like me it’s more like a favorite food group) and our favorite color. These things make up our personality and are part of what makes us unique from everyone else. Children don’t always necessarily know exactly what their favorites are unless they sit and think about it for a minute. These printable My Favorites Charts will help children think about what their favorites are and allow them to write them down.
My Favorites Charts For Kids
These charts are full of topics for children to write down their favorite things. There are three pages and each page has at least 5 different topics for them to address.
The topics are:
color
song
movie
toy
game
meal
fruit
vegetable
drink
dessert
Christmas food
Christmas gift
Christmas song
Christmas decor
Christmas character
Each set of five is decorated in a different, colorful way. The Christmas favorites page is obviously green and red. The pages list the topics in one column and then leave a space for children to write (or draw) their answers.
Prepping This Activity
To prep these worksheets, all you have to do is print them and provide a writing utensil to your child. Alternatively, you could laminate the pages and use them with dry erase markers. It’s that simple!
Benefits
Thinking about your favorite things can help boost your mood and bring positivity into your life. These are both important things, especially to learn as a child.
Working through this favorite activity can help strengthen confidence and self-esteem, especially your child’s favorites are different from others. This is important to have as a young child and to help understand that different people have different preferences.
This activity also helps children think critically. They must think about all of the options that are available and pick their favorite.

Using This Printable My Favorites Charts
This activity can be fun at any time of the year, but it would be really cool to do it at the beginning of the year, on your child’s birthday, or on the first day of school. Doing it on the same day many years in a row can show the changes that a child has made as they grow up. These would be excellent to put in a journal, scrapbook, or time capsule.
