Learning shapes and colors is an important part of a young child’s growing up and learning. Typically this is introduced as a toddler, but if not then preschool age. Learning these concepts are important for future skills. This Shapes and Colors Worksheet for Preschoolers is simple yet beneficial.
Shapes and Colors Worksheet
Learning shapes will help your child gain the skill of differentiating between two or more different objects. To learn the various different shapes, children need to learn how to identify the differences between each shape. This includes how many sides, angles, or no sides.
Colors are also incredibly important. Everything in our world is colored, it is important to learn in order to help children with vocabulary and their ability to describe things.
This worksheet set will help children learn and practice not only shapes but colors too!
Prepping This Activity
After you print the pages, you will need some sort of coloring utensil. Whether this is markers, colored pencils or crayons. The colors that are needed include:
- Red
- Blue
- Green
- Pink
- Yellow
- Purple
- Orange
- Brown
- Yellow Green
Using This Activity
On the main part of the page are a variety of white/blank shapes. Then at the bottom is a key. This will tell children which color to color that particular shape. So for instance, green is a triangle and purple is for circles. Children will just follow the key and color their shapes as much or as little as you want.
