Do your kids like pretend play? If they do, this Grocery Store Pretend Play Printable set is exactly what you need. It has parts that will help kids feel like they are really working at a grocery store or really shopping for food, just like adults do!
Grocery Store Pretend Play
Pretend play is not just play. To kids, that is exactly what it seems like, as if they are just having fun. Little do they know, though, that they are developing crucial skills that are needed as they grow up into adulthood. Pretend play helps with social and emotional health, communication, and critical thinking.
This particular pretend play set, for the grocery store, will also help children strengthen simple math skills, identify food and even work on kindness.
This set includes:
- A Cash Register
- Debit Card
- Coupons
- Price Tags
- Food Cut Outs
So how do you prep this? Grab a few supplies and you’ll be ready to pretend play at the grocery store in no time. You’ll need:
Take the cardboard box and cut it down to size so that it fits under the cash register template. Cut out the cash register and glue it onto the box.
Cut out all the other parts, as well. This includes coupons, debit cards, price tags, and food.
Color the different parts, children can help you with this too. There are also some blank price tags where you or your kids can write their own prices. Don’t be surprised if a cucumber costs $30,000. This is a time when you can let it be, or you can explain that cucumbers don’t cost that much. It’s up to you.
