Cute Mini Christmas Trees for Fine Motor Skills

For our fine motor skills Friday, we made these cute mini Christmas trees. Simple to make, encouraging those fine motor skills with squeezing and pinching and I got some lovely art for the kitchen.

Mini tree craft supplies

To make these cute trees you will need:

  • random loose parts. I have used buttons, beads and pom poms.
  • glitter pens
  • school glue
  • wooden pegs or anything to hold your tree up with
  • foam or cardboard trees
  • (Keeping it real. An optional stuffed toy that a certain 2-year-old decided needed to be in this picture! hehe)

I cut out some paper to use as a template for the trees and managed to fit 3 shapes per page of foam.

Once these are cut add your items to a snack tray or various bowls and get crafting!

Lots of pincer exercise for picking up those tiny items to stick on the trees. Also the adding of the glue by squeezing the bottle and the squeezing of the glitter pens!

It may look like a bit of a mess but once the glues dry they are invisible and the colors shine through.

Try to keep an area clear for the pegs, or add the pegs while crafting!

I especially LOVE the white tree with the glitter and buttons in the middle below. I am actually thinking of doing a similar projects just to frame it for my wall!
