Quick No Cook Playdough Recipe (taste safe)
This months sensory dough is all about play dough! NO COOK play dough. For the entire year we have been making various sensory doughs from homemade moonsand, cloud dough to slime dough. Our spin on all these recipes is that they are taste safe so that if your little one were to put some in their mouth they would be just fine.

My kids LOVE playdough so you can tell that I make a lot of it! I prefer the homemade playdough recipes as I know what goes into them and what my little tasters will be putting in their mouth.
This month I made a tried a well tested recipe. Which I have actually written about before too! I was a real blast from the past to revisit that page and see how small the kids are in the pictures.
How to make no cook playdough recipe
- 4 cups Flour
- 1 cup Salt
- 3 Tablespoons cream of tartar (this is a preservative)
- 4 Tablespoons Oil
- 1 1/2 cups Warm Water
Mix together. You may have to add more water to the mix to get the correct consistency.
You can either add the coloring to the mix when making it or mix in the colors later like I do for the variety. I like to roll mine into a ball then cut it up in sections like cheese! hehe
Add a few drops of coloring to each wedge and roll in the colors. The kids are great at this part once I do the initial color mixing to avoid staining their hands.
Tip / Trick: If you do get food coloring stained hands use white vinegar on a cloth to rub off or try baking soda and water.
Then it is play time!!
