I am rather pleased with how this craft turned out. These hearts now sit on my fridge door.

Tissue Bleed Valentine Hearts

To make it, you will need some crepe paper/bleeding tissue paper, a paintbrush, water and some hearts on cardstock paper (more durable than normal paper when wet!)

Now, I am sure you recall from previous posts how bad I am at drawing shapes… So here is a free printable for these hearts!

valentines activity setup

Cut the tissue paper into strips and lay a strip at a time over the hearts and wet with the brush.

My 2-year-old seems to be a pro at this! I just sat back and took the pictures while cheering her on.

Last year we also made some Valentine hearts with crepe/tissue paper!

It kind of looks like a checkered heart right now. Leave these to bleed a bit (10 mins) before removing the still moist tissue paper.

Gently lift the still moist tissue paper to reveal your bleed art below!

Leave these to dry. Your hearts might curl up a bit because of the drying, but I fixed this easily by leaving a heavy book on top of them (when they were dry) overnight.

These are now stuck to my fridge door with double-folded sticky tape. They look so pretty! These pictures really don’t capture it at all.
