My kids love busy bags and with Christmas coming up soon I thought it only appropriate that I make a few seasonal ones!
This cute gingerbread man features shapes in various colors with a set of cards to style your gingerbread man!
Grab your printable at the bottom of this post. Cut out the gingerbread man template on the felt with matching color shapes.
I use trays for all my busy bags, this keeps the kids happy and each in their own activity. (In the past they would fight over pieces of various activities because they were everywhere.)
Let the kids match up the shapes like in the cards! Oh and those colorful sticks in the upper corner are the ever popular Velcro Dot Craft sticks I made a while ago, they are STILL doing a fabulous job of keeping kids occupied.
If you are not so much into felt you are also able to laminate the paper printout and use as is!
Personally I prefer felt because of the texture and that the felt sticks to itself. The shapes kept moving on the paper activity, which frustrated my toddler.

I am so excited for this series, what an awesome idea!! We have a bunch of felt animals that I painstakingly cut out on our felt board this month, but I have a bunch of foam gingerbread men that I didn’t have any plans for… we might have to make our own!

Cute – My boys LOVE retelling the story of the gingerbread man. This would be a great way to tie in shape recognition.

Love the fact you can add the shapes to the gingerbread man printable too. My toddler also gets frustrated that felt does not stay in the same place. Also great tip about separate trays!
